The lot comes with the following archive:
(i) Telegram dated 5 March 1940 to his father.
(ii) Slip for Second World War Medals.
(iii) Next of Kin Casualty Card confirming number as JX/24256.
(iv) A Christmas/New Years 1944/45 message from his father Frank to Robert on H.M.S. Adamant.
(v) 2 Postcards showing 'Bobbie' as a child sent from his father Frank during WW1 who at the time was also serving in The Royal Navy on H.M.S. New Zealand & H.M.S. Revenge.
(vi) 2 pictures noted on back 'V.J. Day. Perth. West Australia.
HMS Adamant was a World War II submarine depot ship.
Completed in 1942, she served in the Eastern Fleet (Colombo/Trincomalee) with the 4th Submarine Flotilla (comprising nine T-class boats) from April 1943 until April 1945 and then moved with her flotilla to Fremantle, Australia.
