Charles William Thomas Burden lost his brother in the sinking of H.M.S. Auckland at Tobruk 1941, he later re-enlisted in 1946 and joined the Hampshire Regiment.
Charles served with the 126 Light Anti Aircraft Regiment RA, the regiment going to Normandy in October 1944.
