WW1 Trio. Pidgeon. Middlesex Regiment.

£109.00

1914-15 star, war medal & Victory medal with MID emblem, impressed to 6964 W J Pidgeon Middlesex Regiment. William James Pidgeon was born in 1873 so was not a young man when he went to war on the western front. He is reported as wounded in 2015, most likely during the second battle of Ypres, serving with the third battalion. Following this he was transferred to the Royal Defence Corps (Service number 62648) and continued his war service on the home front. He was entitled to wear a wound stripe, and on his discharge from the army in 1918 through sickness, his entitlement to wear the Silver War Badge is confirmed. He died in 1923. I have been unable to confirm his mention in dispatches, but it is an original emblem and this is how I purchased them.

Nicely mounted on bar, good very fine.
