WW1 pair to GRAY. Wiltshire Regt/Devonshire Regt.

Both medals are correctly named to 46942 Pte A.H.Gray. (Alfred Henry) Wilts R.

Included is an ID bracelet constructed of aluminium with a base metal chain. On one side it reads 'PTE A.H. Gray 32653 16 Devons. B.E.F. France.

The other side reads PTE Hyde A. No. 619169. 121 POW Coy. France.

Possibly pals at war?

Also included is a pocket 'Helps to Worship' prayer and instruction book with the recipients name and date of confirmation at Semley (Wiltshire) on the inside cover.

The 16th Devonshires saw action at Gallipolli and the near east. The Wiltshire Regiment saw action at the Western Front in the later years of the war. The Medal Index Card confirms both service numbers.

Mounted as worn. Very fine.
