Pair. Impressed GS-12655 Pte. A. F. Parris. R. Fus.
Archibald Mark Parris was born in 1894 to parents William and Christian. He enlisted at Wimbledon and died on 15th July 1916. He served with The 4th & 8th Battalions Royal Fusiliers and he died whilst attached to the 1st Battalion Royal West Surrey Regiment, probably whilst taking part in The Battle of Bazentin Ridge, 14th - 17th July 1916. He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
His medal roll lists him as Archibald Frank Parris, with the same service number and date of death. Likewise the MIC is 'Archibald F' and notes that there is a request to dispose of the medals. His Dependants Pension card lists his name correctly as do his commemorative details on Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
To further confuse matters entries can also be found under the name Parrish.
The medals are in EF condition, with lengths of original ribbon.
