Royal Mint. 1897 Victoria Diamond Jubilee Large Bronze Medal

Large bronze medal issued for Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897,

The obverse features the veiled ‘Old Head’ effigy of Victoria, commissioned and produced in 1893 by Thomas Brock.

The reverse features first coinage portrait of Victoria, the ‘Young Head’ which is the work of William Wyon and was first used in 1838.
