Pontius Pilate was Governor or Prefect of the Province of Judea during the reign of Tiberius. from AD 26 to 36. He is most famous for residing over the trial of Jesus in AD 33.
This small copper coin, issued in the name of the Emperor Tiberius and his Mother Julia is infamous for the period and place in which it circulated.
