Reverse. Sailing ship with land on the right horizon and Bermuda across the top.
Lettering. BERMUDA 1793
Edge.Plain
Mint. Soho Mint, Handsworth, England (1788-1850)
There is normally a line behind the third mast which is actually a die clashing and is the King's neckline from the obverse die smashing into the reverse die. Most specimens have this, suggesting the clash happened very early on in production. It doesnt appear on this example, which coupled to the glossy quality of the fields suggest that this is an early circulation strike.
The small metal pimples on the kings cheek are typical to this strike.
There is a small edge knock on the reverse by the A of Bermuda, probably acquired during the minting process. Otherwise near mint state with good residual red lustre as pictured. Very rare in this condition.
