The Territorial Force War Medal awarded to Serjeant A. G. Howes, 1/4th Battalion, Wiltshire Regiment, who died of wounds in November 1917

Arthur George Howes was born at Laverstock, Wiltshire in 1892 and lived at 58 Part Street, Salisbury on his attestation prior to the Great War. Mobilized with the rest of the Battalion in August 1914 he doubtless proceeded with them to Delhi where they spent the first years of the war, replacing regular troops who were needed elsewhere.

They later transferred to Egypt where they were stationed in November 1917. It was there that Howes was mortally wounded, dying there on 8 November 1917, he was buried at Deir El Belah Cemetery. He is also entitled to a British War Medal and Victory Medal. Sold together with copied research.
