Regimental medal. Ireland. South Fingal Cavalry. 1801.

South Fingal Cavalry Medal 1801, silver, 73mm x 53mm.

Obverse featuring a cavalryman in full uniform standing holding a rifle pointed towards a target left (which appears to be a playing card, possibly the Ace of Spades), behind are ten mounted cavalrymen with swords drawn, 

Reverse is engraved 'This Medal was the Reward presented to Lieut Hill for being the best Marksman of the South Fingal Cavalry March 17.th 1801',
