William Ernest Emery was born in 1897 in Forest Gate. He enlisted 20.11.16 aged 19 and was discharged 12.12.1919 having seen service in France and Germany. Included are his original receipt card for the medals, his certificate of transfer to the reserve, and his 3 years overseas service stripes/chervrons. Also included are 17 photocopied pages of research to include personal and service history.
