Isle of Man. Diamond Finish Fifty Pence. 1982. Christmas issue.
£39.00
The Isle of Man's Third Christmas Double Crown.
Carols were a feature of Christmas celebrations as early as the 15th century, and the Yuletide custom of 'wassailing' is probably as old. carolling has been as popular in Man over the centuries as in any part of the British isles, and at no time more so than during Queen Victoria's reign. It is therefore appropriate that the Isle of Man's 1982 Christmas coin - on its reverse should depict a group of Victorian carollers. They are portrayed before Christmas tree against the backdrop of Castle Rushen in the former capital of the island.
This example pristine throughout, with its COA and envelope of issue.
